Rosamund: My Week

Rosamund ci regala un pezzetto della sua vita: ecco la sua settimana tipo! Qui Rosamund ci parla di una settimana in particolare durante lo spettaclo teatrale "Summer & Smoke", dove recitava a fianco di Chris Carmack (Luke in The OC). E' molto interessante, leggetelo!

Mercoledì - Wednesday

Un intera giornata dedicata alle prove al Notthingham Playhouse per Summer & Smoke, lo spettacolo molto sensuale di Tenesse Williams nella quale interpreto Alma, una ragazza del sud che soffre di amore irrequieto. Il regista, Adrian Noble, ha avuto delle idee drammatiche per il finale ad alta tensione:-l'abbiamo reso molto più intimo.

Dopo una pausa strettisisma per poter mangiare qualcosa, Chris Carmack, il mio partner in scena, ed io siamo saliti sul palco. Ci sentivamo timidi e vulnerabili. Ma i cambiamenti hanno funzionato e tutto è filato liscio.

A full day of rehearsals at the Nottingham Playhouse for Summer and Smoke, the very sexy Tennessee Williams play in which I'm Alma, a Southern girl suffering unrequited love. The director, Adrian Noble, had some dramatic ideas for the climactic final scene – we made it much more intimate.

After a scrambled break to force down some food, Chris Carmack, my co-star, and I went out on stage feeling very shy and vulnerable. But the changes worked. It was like driving: we had to co-ordinate, so we could free our minds to look at the road.

Giovedì - Thursday

Svegliapresto per i miei impegni- la tavernetta  di una grande casa nell'esclusivo Park Estate- per scrivere un articolo su Tenesse Williams. Ero così assorbita che ce l'ho fatta per un pelo ad arrivare in teatro per lo spettacolo mattutino.

In una pausa tra uno spettacolo e l'altro -con pubblico alcompleto- sono sgusicata via da Marks & Spencer Vegetables per sgranocchiare qualcosa nella camera coon i microonde. Sono stata trattenuta da un'amica dopo lospettacolo serale,ma mentre parlavamo mi è completamente sfuggito il suo nome. Ho capito che non sarei stata di gran compagnia.

Up early at my digs – the basement of a large house in the rather exclusive Park Estate – to write an article on Tennessee Williams. I was so engrossed, I barely made it to the theatre in time for the matinée.

Between performances – both of which played to full houses – I nipped to Marks & Spencer's for vegetables to steam in the green room microwave. I was keen for a drink after the evening show, but while chatting to a friend, her name completely slipped my mind. I realised I would be hopeless company.

Venerdì - Friday

La mia stilista Christine edio abbiamo cenato molto presto in un bellissivo vecchio bar. Sentivo terribilmente la mancanza di Londra, ma mi sono sentita meglio là inuna nuvola di fumo, dopo birra e sformato di cipolla.

Non ci siamo aggiustate troppo, dato che tutta la compagnia ci avrebbe raggiunto dopo per un pò di curry. Cercando di ignorare l'impressionante quantità di poliziotti in centro, siamo finiti a bere vodka e a ballare al Bar Schnaps, locale che resta aperto fino a tardi per servire  wastrels ae wanderers.

My dresser, Christine, and I had an early supper in a wonderful old bar down an alley. I was desperately homesick for London, but I felt better there in a haze of smoke, over beer and garlicky houmous.

We didn't stuff ourselves too much, as the entire company was going for curry later. Trying to ignore the heavy police presence in the town centre, we ended up drinking vodka and swing dancing in Bar Schnapps, a dive that stays open late to serve wastrels and wanderers.

 Sabato- Saturday

Dopo avewr fatto sogni agitati per via del curry a notte fonda, mi sono svegliata stanca ma pronta a tornare al volante a Londra per un party dopo la fine dello spettacolo.

Ho preso la macchina, inserito le frecce e sono partita nella brezza, poi sono rimasta intrappolatacantando Cabaret in un traffico tremendo. Sono arrivata alla festa dopo le 4, quando tutti stavano andando a dormire.

After some very purple dreams from the late-night curry, I woke hungover but determined to drive back to London for a party after the final show.

I packed up, fixed the indicator light on my car – an even better kick than a good show – breezed through the play, and then got stuck singing Cabaret on the M1 in the most horrendous traffic. I got to the party just before 4 am, as everyone was going to bed.

Domenica- Sunday

Una giornata di pausa passata col mio ragazzo, il regista Joe Wright. Abbaimo dormito, mangiato una bistecca e siamoa dnati a vedere l'ultimo film di Scorsese, the Departed, un thriller fantastico.

.Dopo di che abbiamo fatto spese per preparare il mio piatto preferito, pasta con salsa di pomodoro fredda e basilico (Avevo appena iniziatoa  cucinare quando mi sno resa conto di aver dimenticato il basilico)- ho dovuto essere creativa. Noi attori siamo tutti nevrotici; ci fa bene combattere contro i problemi di tutti i giorni, per riuscire a superarli.

A day off spent with my boyfriend, director Joe Wright: absolute bliss. We slept in, ate steak and went to see the new Scorsese film, The Departed, a fantastically compelling thriller.

Then we shopped for my favourite meal, pasta with cold tomato and basil sauce. It was only when I'd started cooking that I realised we'd forgotten the basil – I had to get creative. We actors are all a bit neurotic; it does us good to face everyday problems, and overcome them.
